February is National Children’s Dental Health Month
Every February, the American Dental Association sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.
Tooth decay is the single most common chronic disease of childhood with a reported 19% of children 2 – 5 years of age having tooth decay. Drs. Judy Laxer, Sonny Long and Matthew Savage believe it is important to begin dental education early.
As a part of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Laxer, Long & Savage participates in Give Kids a Smile Day and also sponsors various dental health education programs for preschools and elementary schools in the area.
