Dr. Kaitlin Laxer

Biography

Many of you probably recognize Dr. Kaitlin as Dr. Laxer’s daughter! She spent much of her upbringing around the practice, and more than anything, she is thrilled to be returning home to her roots in Charlotte, N.C. as she joins her mother and colleagues in practice. Dr. Kaitlin is grateful for the opportunity to serve patients in the Charlotte and surrounding area communities. She returns back home to Charlotte with her fiancé, Adam, an orthodontist in the Charlotte area, and Ruby, their King Charles Cavalier puppy.

Dr. Kaitlin’s professional interests include oral healthcare during pregnancy, infant oral health, space maintenance, trauma, atraumatic restorative treatment, and providing care to children with special healthcare needs.


In her free time, Dr. Kaitlin loves to travel, spend time with her family, cook, and do anything outside with her puppy, Ruby.


Education

Dr. Kaitlin obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at The University of South Carolina, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude after being inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. Finally, she matched to a top residency program, The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she obtained her Master of Science and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry degrees and served as Chief Resident of Resident Development. She received training in emergency trauma at this level-one trauma center, restorative dentistry, microbiology and cariology, behavior guidance, orthodontics, and treatment of patients with special healthcare needs. Dr. Kaitlin has extensive experience treating patients with nitrous oxide, moderate sedation, and general anesthesia. Dr. Kaitlin’s research was in oral health during pregnancy.
